GmailRe: Proposal

A long reply, selected.

You say: make it shorter

GmailRe: Proposal

Hi Sam, I reviewed the proposal and it looks great. I have a few quick questions about the timeline, let me know when you're free to discuss.

Ask it your way.

  • make it shorter
  • make it funny
  • make it more polite
  • translate this to Hindi
  • turn this into a list

⌘Z brings the original back.

Two keys

Say it, or ask for it.

fn types what you say.

Your words, exactly. Nothing added.

Right Option does what you ask.

It writes it, or rewrites what you've selected.

Its own look

Its own pill. Six looks.

So you always know which key you're holding. Pick yours in the app.

  • Spark

    Twinkles while it thinks.

  • Bright idea

    Lights up when you ask.

  • Wand

    A wave of the wand.

  • Paper plane

    Your words take off.

Questions

Good questions.

  • Which key does Smart mode use?

Right Option. If Right Option is already your talk key, Smart mode uses Right Command instead. Your talk key (fn, unless you changed it) still types exactly what you say, with nothing added.

  • What can I ask it to do with text I've selected?

Ask the way you'd ask a person: make it shorter, make it funny, make it more polite, translate this to Hindi, turn this into a list. The new version replaces what you selected, and ⌘Z brings the original back.

  • What happens to the text I select?

What you select and what you ask go to our service only to write the answer, and are never stored. The Privacy Policy has the details.

  • Does Smart mode cost extra?

No. It's part of the free plan, just like dictation.

  • Is Smart mode on Windows?

Not yet. It's on Mac now, and it's coming to Windows.
