The short answer. MacWhisper is a transcription app first: drop in a recording, a video or a meeting and get a transcript, made on your Mac. It also dictates, in the version sold on its own website. Featherweight Dictation does only dictation, laid out for each app. It takes 4.6 MB on your Mac against MacWhisper's 266 MB (before models), and costs $19 a month against €64 once.
